GEO & AI Visibility
What is GEO?
Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the practice of making your brand understandable, citable and recommendable by AI answer engines — ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and others. Unlike traditional SEO, the goal isn't a top-ranking URL; it's having your brand name, expertise and solution appear inside the AI's generated answer when a user asks a relevant question.
Is GEO the same as SEO?
No, but they reinforce each other. SEO targets rankings on search result pages (SERP). GEO targets the source pool that generative AI systems draw from when forming answers. Both share overlapping signals — structured data, crawlability, content quality, authority — but GEO additionally requires semantic content architecture, llms.txt, citable definition blocks and entity-graph work. RankMate optimizes both layers simultaneously.
When will I see results?
Technical fixes (schema markup, page speed, crawlability) show up in Search Console within 1-2 weeks. AI citation tracking tools start returning meaningful data in 3-6 weeks. Content authority and brand entity signals typically become statistically significant in 8-16 weeks depending on the competitive intensity of your sector. Your GEO score in the audit report is updated every two weeks so progress is always measurable.
Which AI systems are covered?
ChatGPT (web + Plus), Google Gemini, Perplexity AI, Claude (with web search enabled), Microsoft Copilot and Google AI Overviews are the primary targets. Each system has a different source-weighting logic and citation mechanism; strategy is tailored accordingly. As new systems emerge, the approach is updated — which is why continuous monitoring is recommended over a one-time engagement.
Process & technical
How does the audit work?
First, an automated GEO scan runs on your domain: schema coverage, LLM crawl access, content semantic structure, Core Web Vitals and brand entity signals are all analysed. Then 20-30 sector-specific questions are fired at major AI systems and we measure how often — and in what context — your brand is cited. All findings are delivered within 48 hours as a prioritised action list.
Do I need to rebuild my website?
No. In most cases, adding structured data, strengthening existing content, fixing technical issues and setting up llms.txt on the existing site is enough. If the site carries serious technical debt or runs on an outdated CMS, we flag it honestly in the report and give an unbiased recommendation. If you don't have an implementation team, we handle it.
Is the WhatsApp AI Assistant separate?
Yes. The WhatsApp AI Assistant runs on the official Meta Business Cloud API and is trained on your service catalogue, pricing and FAQ knowledge base — a separate operational layer. It can be set up independently of GEO/SEO work, but when used together, the same content foundation drives consistent answers in both AI search and WhatsApp conversations.
Will it conflict with my existing agency?
No — it complements them. RankMate adds an AI visibility layer on top of whatever your current SEO agency, social media team or ad manager is already doing. We coordinate with existing partners where needed and flag any overlapping work so nothing gets duplicated.
Pricing & scope
Do you have fixed pricing?
No. Sector competition intensity, existing infrastructure quality and target AI systems all vary by project, so pricing is determined by audit findings. We start with a free GEO audit to establish a clear baseline, then present a transparent proposal before any commitment.
Can I just buy the audit?
Yes. The audit is available as a standalone purchase and your own team can act on the findings. For those who want implementation support, monthly retainer and project-based execution packages are also available.
Is a monthly commitment required?
No. That said, GEO requires continuous monitoring — AI systems shift source weights with each model update — so gains made without ongoing tracking can erode over time. Monthly monitoring and optimisation is recommended for durability, but never pushed on clients who prefer a project-based approach.
